1. How to take a good
close-up image of a flower using a digital camera.
2. Which type of photograph to choose for a good result.
Understanding how to prepare fabric to use for printing.
Manipulation of a photo (using Picture Manager from Microsoft) on
the computer.
Discussion about other photographic programs e.g. Picassa and Photoshop.
How to make a small quilt from the printed pictures.
7. Quilting ideas, including thread painting.
8. Finishing and binding the quilt.

Needs
List:
|
1. Laptop Computer
Must have Microsoft Office Picture Manager programme installed.
It
is usually installed under Office Works and with the My Pictures
programme.
2. Own photographs
of flowers or leaves (I will provide a CD of suitable images for
each class participant to keep.)
3. 4-6 sheets of
A4 cotton fabric, commercially prepared, for printing. These are
available for purchase from the shop.
4. Sewing Machine
(in good working order) and Manual.
Be sure to bring all feet i.e. darning foot and walking foot!
5. ½ metre
pellon or thin batting.
6. ½ metre backing fabric.
7. 6 - 8 reels of threads in the colour range of the image.
(Anna will arrange for these to be available to purchase.)
9. Usual sewing
equipment. i.e. scissors, needles etc.
10. Memory stick is very useful but not essential. I recommend you
bring one, if at all possible. |
